Blurb:

A freak blizzard strands flight attendant Andy Weston at LaGuardia Airport on Thanksgiving. Tabloid reports about Hollywood It couple Devin Delaney and Cristina Marino breaking up in spectacular fashion keep Andy sane. And then Devin Delaney himself turns up at the gate Andy is working. Against all odds—and because there’s nothing else to do—Andy and Devin begin to talk, immediately connect, and, after Devin confesses the real reason he broke up with Cristina, have a magical night together snowed in at the airport. But the magic ends when Devin boards his flight home the next morning, and Andy assumes it’s over.

Then Devin turns up on his doorstep. Andy is game for a clandestine affair at first—who could turn down one of the hottest men on the planet? But he soon grows tired of being shoved in Devin’s closet. As Christmas approaches, it’s clear that this will never work unless Devin is willing to make some big changes. Devin has a holiday surprise in store—but will it be enough?

My Review:

Devin December is an achingly sweet romance novella about finding love where you least expect it. This novel was immensely delightful, and Andy is so fierce and brave that I couldn’t help but fall in love with him!

I really love romances where the relationship doesn’t come easy, and I think Kate does an excellent job of showing the struggles that Andy and Devin face as they embark on their unconventional relationship. Not only is Devin deep in the closet, but his fame– in fact, his entire career– may rest on him playing the role of a straight man. But the obvious chemistry between the two men is really lovely, and their determination to make it work is what kept me turning the pages as fast as I could!

I gave it until the end of December, really; I didn’t think we could last once the magic bubble of the holidays popped.

But Andy! Oh man, Andy is just pure perfection. He’s a bit sassy and completely unapologetic, and the way he just rolls with Devin’s flirting is kind of hilarious.

“So, wait, rewind, let me get this queer. You are one of the most famous and sexy men in the world, you are secretly gay, and, by some miracle, you want to have sex with me?”

He took a step closer to me. “That about sums it up, yeah.”

This novella is super sweet, and an excellent holiday romance just in time for Christmas. If you’re traveling for the holidays, grab this one to read when your plane is delayed!
