Chad Lake only showed up at his sister’s party for the free food, but when he spots an uptight nerd at the edge of the crowd, he can’t resist trying to ruffle the guy’s perfect bow tie and impeccable hair. The hottie’s ready for him, though, and in the end, it’s Chad who’s left wide-eyed, his ears still ringing with the filthy things Bow Tie whispered in his ear. No one gets the upper hand on Chad. Ever.

Owen Hawkins has heard all about the cocky Adonis from Chad’s sister—the same sister who holds Owen’s career advancement in her hands. He has every intention of steering clear of the other man…until Chad’s sexy taunts push him too far. There’s something intriguing about Chad, and even though Owen knows that getting tangled up with the infuriating man is trouble, he can’t seem to stay away…

My Review:

Holy mother of god, this book is fucking hot. Hot like burning. Panty-melting hot. I mean, wow.

Right from the start, Chad and Owen rub each other the wrong way. (But they also rub each other the right way, if you know what I mean.) They have nothing in common, it seems; Chad is a player, unable to commit to a partner or a job, happy to fuck and run. Owen is polished, uptight, pure 100% nerd. The sex, you can imagine, is off-the-charts hot.

The kiss was half I want you so bad and half I’ve got something to prove along with a bonus I hate how much I want you.

But because this is a Megan Erickson novel, it doesn’t end there. The characters are passionate and real. They have hopes and dreams, reasons and insecurities. Slowly but surely, Chad and Owen realize that there’s more to them than just a hot fuck in whatever (mostly-private) space they can find.

I loved so much about this novel: the back-and-forth banter, the way Chad provokes Owen until he drops that calm facade and lets loose, and the slow-build chemistry between the two men.

“Why do I want you?” Owen growled, his teeth biting into the skin. “I don’t even like you.”

Chad bucked his hips. “Well, I like your dick, and you like my ass. You don’t have to fuck my personality.”

A hot-as-fuck read, and one hell of a great way to start off the New Year! But watch out… you won’t be able to look at bow ties the same way ever again!
