Noah has suppressed his urges for other men for years, but when a sexy bartender comes crashing into his life, all bets are off.

Due to his career as a lawyer and his father’s strict ways, Noah has always ignored the side of him that craves the touch of another man, not wanting to upset the calm waters of his life. But when he’s out one night celebrating his friend’s first win in a courtroom, Noah is taken aback by the raw lust that consumes him when he meets Shea. He wants to ignore what he feels for the man, but when Shea introduces a tantalizing side of sex that Noah has been dreaming of, he finds it impossible to keep Shea out of his life.

Shea’s been heartbroken before by a man who wouldn’t come out of the closet for him, and he doesn’t think he can go through that again. Can Noah let go of his fears of coming out to the world? Will the pleasures Shea gives him in the bedroom have Noah seeing what really matters in the long run?

My Review:

Love at first sight, with a light BDSM twist.

I’m not normally a fan of love at first sight novels, but that’s not actually what drew me into this story. Jennifer’s easy-to-read dialogue, her sexy characters, and the steamy attraction between closeted Noah and out-and-proud Shea was a pleasure to read.

This novella is pretty short, which means we miss out on a lot of background. We get glimpses of Noah’s conservative upbringing, the expectations of his family and profession, but never anything detailed. That’s always the trade-off when you read a novella… there’s always more you wish you could see.

What I loved, though, was how Noah’s being in the closet was handled. There’s no easy fix, no jumping out of the closet with glitter. It’s a tough process, and requires a lot of thinking. Again, this is skimmed over, but I think Jennifer did a great job of showing Noah’s thought process.

A really enjoyable story, and an author I can see myself reading more from in the future!
