This is a very short but really fun story about cultural differences and spending the holidays with the ones you love. It’s also fun to read now, knowing that my friends in Australia are eagerly awaiting the warm weather of Christmas while the rest of us are dreaming of cooler temperatures!

I thought for a short story the pacing was actually really good, and Sanders managed to include a full story in a small amount of space.

I do think the Australian-isms were a bit over-the-top though. I think that was partially the point, so I’m not actually complaining; it’s a book about an American spending his first Christmas in Australia, so it makes sense to really emphasize the differences. But it was still jarring to me because they felt forced at times.

A really fun story, and probably exactly what I’ll need to re-read this coming Christmas when I’m freezing my butt off! 😀
